TFSA - Tax Free Savings Account

A TFSA is a registered account that lets Canadians earn investment income tax-free.

  • Tax-free growth: Interest, dividends, and capital gains earned in the account are not taxed — even when withdrawn.
  •  Flexible withdrawals: Take money out anytime, for any reason, with no tax penalty.
  • Contribution room returns the following year after a withdrawal.
  • Not just for savings: You can hold stocks, ETFs, mutual funds, GICs, and more inside a TFSA.

RRSP - Registered Retirement Savings Plan

An RRSP is a government-registered account designed to help Canadians save for retirement while deferring taxes.

Tax deductible contributions

  •  Contributions reduce your taxable income for the year.

Tax-Deferred Growth

  •  Investments grow tax-free while inside the RRSP.
  • You only pay tax when you withdraw funds, ideally when you're retired and in a lower tax bracket.

Non-Registered Account

A non-registered account is a flexible, taxable investment account with no contribution limits and no tax-sheltering benefits, but fewer restrictions than registered accounts (like TFSA/RRSP).

Unlimited Contributions

  •  No cap on how much you can invest.
  • Ideal for high-net-worth clients who’ve maxed out their TFSA and RRSP.

Full Flexibility

  •  No age limits, income requirements, or contribution deadlines.
  • Withdraw money anytime, without restrictions or penalties.
